A hearty plate of spicy stir-fried squid

Spicy Stir-Fried Squid features tender squid cooked in a rich gochujang-based sauce with vegetables. Spicy, savory, and full of depth, it’s a classic Korean dish that pairs perfectly with rice.

Ingredients
  • Whole squid2 pc
  • Carrot (sliced)1/4 pc
  • Onion (sliced)1/2 pc
  • Jalapenos (sliced)2 pc
  • Green onion (chopped)2 tbsp
  • Cabbage1 cup
  • Gochujang1 tbsp
  • Soy sauce4 tbsp
  • Korean chili flakes3 tbsp
  • Sugar3 tbsp
  • Corn syrup1 tbsp
  • Garlic (minced)1.5 tbsp
  • Sesame oil1 tbsp
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

1. Prepare vegetables by slicing carrot, onion, jalapenos, cabbage, and chopping green onion.

2. Clean the squid, score the inside in a crosshatch pattern, and cut into bite-sized pieces.

3. In a bowl, mix gochujang, soy sauce, chili flakes, sugar, corn syrup, and garlic.

4. Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Add vegetables and cook until slightly softened.

5. Add the sauce

6. Add squid and stir-fry quickly until just cooked.

7. Finish with sesame oil, then garnish with green onion and sesame seeds.
